MAYOR JACK LOUWS SAYS:
"Please vote for Scott Korthuis as our next Mayor. Scott is my choice to lead Lynden as Mayor because of his proven ability to work as a respected team leader in the many community and business activities he has been involved in. His demeanor is well suited to work with our community members, city council & city staff, and with the many people he will be involved with in greater Whatcom County serving as our Mayor. TO THE EDITOR, LyndenTribune:
I have had the privilege of serving on several different committees, organizations and councils with Scott Korthuis over the last several years. I have always witnessed him to take his job seriously. He was always fair, even when he was a competitor of ours for a while. I have found Scott to be very diligent and prompt for any task at hand. Scott shows good judgment and discernment. He gives excellent presentations and is always well prepared. Scott has also displayed concern for someone else’s position, even when it has differed from his own. In my opinion, Scott Korthuis would make an excellent mayor for the city of Lynden.
Duane Scholten - June 17, 2009

TO THE EDITOR, Lynden Tribune:
I was so excited and encouraged when I heard that Scott Korthuis was stepping up to run for mayor. He has proven himself a very capable and committed community leader over the years through his various involvements... I am thankful for Scott’s heart for Lynden... I believe that as mayor, he would bring a thoughtful and fresh perspective to helping Lynden become an even stronger and better community.
Bev Sterk - June 17, 2009

"Dear Scott, I am happy that you have decided to run for mayor of our town. I have known you for a long time and believe that you would be a real credit to the office and to our community. Best wishes in the campaign ahead."
